The meals in Mas de Thau
French people have the reputation to like to eat and drink especially in the south of France.
In Mas de Thau we must follow the French tradition. Your relaxing family holidays include all dinners (half board in summer). Our Chef will cook delicious meals prepared with high quality products from the surroundings, most often organic.
A bottle of wine of your choice will be offered for each day dinner
On request we can cook simpler dinners for the children.
In high season (July and August) all dinners are included in the weekly price (half board). They are delivered to your accommodation or eaten on the Place of the Mas (Sunday and Tuesday).
In May, June and September, 4 meals for all are included in the weekly price and delivered to your accommodation.
A welcome basket will be in your accommodation on arrival with a comprehensive starter pack allowing you to relax as well as food for the continental breakfast (milk, butter, orange juice …) expresso machine with free coffee capsules, kettle and tea bags. Fresh bread and viennoiseries (croissants) collected from our local bakery daily in Montagnac will be delivered to your door fresh each and every morning (ordered the day before).

Freedom for parents
You can take advantage of some adult time. Enjoy time reading by one of our 2 beautiful heated swimming pools, or go off Mas and explore the local towns, harbour’s, markets, vineyards etc… Do whatever takes your fancy in the knowledge that your children are enjoying the childcare program or doing activities in the park.
You easily can drive for a drink or snacks on the harbor of Mèze or simply enjoy the beach (10 minutes), Sète (30 minutes), Marseillan (25 minutes)
So many amazing and so close historical and touristic sites to visit in the region, the town of Pezenas with the antics and all shops, Béziers and the 9 lock gates of Canal du Midi, the dinosaurs park, Abbey of Valmagne, Saint Guilhem le Désert…
OUR DOMAIN
The vineyards of Mas de Thau
In the mid-1800 century, there was a wine boom in this area and in 1850 the grain and vegetables fields were replaced with wines and the farmhouse became a prosperous vineyard estate.
From our arrival in 2014 we have replant many hectares of vineyards in order to get back to the identity of the original estate
We are producing our white wine, AOP (protected appellation origins) Picpoul de Pinet, pink wines in IGP, to drink at the bar of the domain.

Wine tasting
In our region Occitanie (Languedoc) are produced lots of excellent quality wines : white, rosé and red. In the Herault county, there are 19 wines in AOP (protected appellation origins) and 8 wines in IGP (geographical protected indication).
Mas de Thau is established on the ground of AOP wines Picpoul de Pinet, and Grès de Montpellier. Each Tuesday evening in July and August, there will be a wine tasting evening. A local wine producer will come to Le Bar du Mas and bring plenty of wine for you to sample : domaine le Mas de Novi, Domaine les Yeuses, Domaine Saint Hilaire, Domaine Vila Noria, Domaine de la Clapière …
There will be large platters of food prepared by the chef, to share with the other guests that compliment the wines. It’s a wonderful evening with other guests, while comfortably installed under the camarguaise hut.
You also can ride the bikes on the little roads to visit our neigtbours and taste their wines in their domains.
Shopping
A welcome basket will be in your accomodation on arrival with a comprehensive starter pack allowing you to relax and deal with the supermarket on another day, as well as fresh products in the fridge.
You have the possibility to drive to the supermarkets if needed or just for fun (stores opened every day, on Sunday until 12.30 am), Spar in Montagnac (5 minutes), Carrefour and Intermarché are in Méze (10 minutes), Carrefour and Leclerc in Pezenas (10 minutes). You also will enjoy the typically south France local markets (list available at reception desk).
In Montagnac (5 minutes), are doctors, pharmacy, supermarket, newspapers, restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries … and local market on Friday morning.
We also can deliver your shopping in your appartment, please ask the reception desk for orders (option).
RELAXATION MOMENT
Wellness center
The Wellness Center with sauna, hammam and beauty treatments room, for adults only. All facilities can be used on request, please ask Maryse during the day for use in the same evening.
Let yourself be pampered with a massage and a beauty treatments (option) with the Practicionner (please make appointment before arrival by email or with Maryse).
Housekeeping
In July and August, tidy up of your accommodation from Monday to Friday. This service is included in the weekly price.
Baby and toddler equipment
You can relax and travel easily, it’s not necessary to bring your baby and toddler’s equipment.
All baby equipment are included in the weekly price , will be provided and installed in your accomodation : cots with sheets and blanket, high chair, plastic baby bath, bath toys, change mattress, bottle heater, sterilizer, booster seat, plastic cutlery, stroller…
Baby-Sitting
The Kid’s club is open all day on Wednesday from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm (only in July & August), and the children have lunch with the animation team in the Kids HQ. The parents can go off Mas and explore the local towns, harbour’s, markets, vineyards… Also included is a visit to the private Beach Club in Marseillan plage where beds will be reserved for two and a light lunch at your bed will be included too (only in July & August)
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (9.30-12.30 / 2.00 – 5.00 pm)
One night baby sitting on Thursday evening in your accomodation by the nannies and the animation team of the kid’s club.
There are many nice restaurants close to the domain, some with stars in guide Michelin. Ask us for a restaurant recommendation.
